Mullerthal

The Mullerthal region, better known as Luxembourg's Little Switzerland, is known for its beautiful nature and rock formations. The composition of the rocks and their erosion have created the typical landscape. The diverse natural and geological heritage makes the region so special. For this reason, the Nature and Geopark Mëllerdall (Mullerthal) was founded in 2016. It was included in the international network of UNESCO Global Geoparks in 2022. The combination of nature and geopark speaks for the special importance and protection of the landscape. The untouched nature is a real experience for hikers. You can find more information under the subpage hiking.

The capital of the region is Echternach, this is the oldest city in Luxembourg and is considered the historical highlight of the region. Echternach is known for its basilica and the monastery museum, but above all for its famous centuries-old spring procession. Echternach is also the right place for an afternoon of shopping. In the Mullerthal region you will find various castles and castle ruins, read more about this under Culture.
